[postgis-users] How do you use PostGIS?

Storage and retrieval of near real time in-situ ocean and meteorological
observations + remotely sensed imagery to support MapServer-based
interactive portals + WMS and WFS services.

Insertion and storage:  Custom Perl and PHP code to aggregate and normalize
netCDF-based in-situ data.
Visualization and dissemination:  Custom Perl and PHP scripts as well as
MapServer utilities to handle tricky temporal and spatial issues.

> - Why you chose to use PostGIS for the application

Outstandingly supportive and savvy community.  Proven track record.

> - What PostGIS feature or PostGIS-related software (not necessarily
